This week, the Government unveiled its Kickstart Scheme, designed to create hundreds of thousands of high quality six-month work placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit and thought to be at risk of long term unemployment.
The scheme is worth £2 billion, supplying funding for each job covering 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.

Companies interested in offering at least 30 new placements need to apply directly for funding.
For those looking at fewer than 30 new roles, the Government is looking to work with intermediaries, such as chambers of commerce, to coordinate funding bids.
Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce is exploring ways of making the process as easy as possible for our members.
However, in the meantime, if any MK company would like to express an initial interest in participating in the Kickstart Scheme and creating fully funded roles, they are welcome to contact us via email@example.com
