ATA Carnets
How to use a Carnet by Chamber Member, Paul Williamson of Speedsource.
The Northamptonshire Chamber are authorised to issue ATA Carnets – documentation that allows you to take your goods out of the UK for demonstration or exhibition in a foreign country.
The ATA Carnet simplifies the custom formalities by allowing a single document to be used for clearing goods through Customs in the countries that are part of the ATA Carnet system. An ATA Carnet is valid for one year and allows for movement of the goods shown on the Carnet as many times as required during the 12 months to any of the destinations applied for.
Please be advised that there is a new CPC (Customs Procedure Code) for ATA Carnets
An ATA Carnet may be used to temporarily import or export goods from the United Kingdom. The Carnet replaces the normal customs declaration. Where the ATA Carnet is used at an Inventory Linked port/airport. In the UK a C21 form must also be completed quoting the correct CPC code.
