‘Get ready for Brexit’ Brexit Business Readiness’ event

Posted: 12/09/19 by SEMLEP

As part of the Government’s £108 million fund to prepare Britain for exiting the EU, SEMLEP is working with BEIS (Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy) to facilitate their first ‘Get ready for Brexit’ Brexit Business Readiness’ event.

The event will take place on Monday 16th September 9am – 11:45am at the Marriott Hotel, Eagle Drive, Northampton NN4 7HW. Register to attend via email:

The event will provide specific business-focused advice and help, including:

• Key actions for all businesses to take

• Interactive support and advice stands

• In-depth sessions led by subject matter experts

• A ‘Get your clients ready for Brexit’ session which will take a ‘train the trainer’ approach

There will also be opportunities to speak on a one-to-one basis with Government advisers from HMRC, BEIS, DEFRA, Home Office, DIT and DCMS.

To help reach as many businesses as we can over this short period, we ask that you share this information widely to your business contacts and encourage them to attend this government-led Brexit preparation and resilience initiative. To help, you can find event information, including the agenda at this link:

As you can see, it is a full schedule covering several topics about Brexit of which some or all will be applicable to businesses attending.

Get your clients ready for Brexit’ session:

BEIS has developed a package of support to help business intermediaries to provide up to-date Brexit readiness information to the businesses that they work with.

Your staff, Brexit advisers, and other business advisers would benefit from attending this session, taking place at 10am as part of the above readiness event.

If you and/or your advisers and any business who would like to register to attend this event please email as soon as possible to confirm.

Business Readiness Fund

You may also have heard about the recent Business Readiness Fund. This is a £10 million grant scheme that was launched by BEIS last month. This fund is open to business organisations and trade associations to assist in providing Brexit support to their wider network of clients. If your organisation has applied for grant funding through this, or intends to do so, please let us know how we can support you.

There will be further events as part of this campaign held in other areas including Leicester, Peterborough and London. More details on these will be provided as soon as they are available.
