Built for ambitious young professionals and entrepreneurs aged 18 to 30, it is designed to give members more than just another networking event. It gives them access to practical learning, real business connections, and inspiring opportunities that help them build confidence, raise their profile, and take meaningful steps forward in their career or business journey.

The relaunch of Next Gen Chamber is all about making it more relevant, more engaging, and more valuable. Each event is designed to blend learning and networking together, creating a more dynamic experience where members can hear from inspiring speakers, learn from relatable success stories, and connect with other young people who are equally driven to make progress.

This is a space for people who want to meet the right contacts, learn from those who have already built successful careers, and feel part of a community that understands where they are now and where they want to go next. Whether someone is climbing the ladder, building a business, or working out their next move, Next Gen Chamber is here to help them do it with the support of a stronger network around them.

Description: Building your career today is about more than just doing your job well. It is about making the right connections, understanding how to communicate your value, and having the confidence to share your story.

Join us for Network, Connect, Share, a Next Gen Chamber event designed for ambitious young professionals who want to grow their confidence, develop their personal presence, and build stronger connections in business.

This session will bring together two inspiring speakers with different career journeys, each offering valuable insight into what it takes to stand out, create opportunities, and grow as an emerging professional.

We’ll hear from Jessie Cotton, Sales Manager at Eckland Lodge, who will share her journey from leaving school at 16 and completing a business apprenticeship, to building a successful career in sales within the construction industry. Jessie is passionate about helping young people see that there is no single route to success, and that practical experience, confidence, and backing yourself can open unexpected doors.

We’ll also hear from Carys Wellicome, Membership Coordinator at Northamptonshire Chamber and Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce. After graduating from the University of Northampton with a first class degree in Marketing and Promotion, and being named Digital Northants’ One to Watch, Carys has built a career around communication, relationship-building, and supporting local businesses. Alongside her role at the Chamber, she also leads as Women’s Captain and Team Manager for Northampton Casuals Rugby Club, bringing leadership and teamwork into everything she does.

Together, Jessie and Carys will share honest insight into building a career, finding your voice, creating opportunities, and stepping into leadership. Attendees will have the chance to learn from real experiences, connect with like-minded people, and leave with practical inspiration they can apply in their own journey.

For businesses, this event is also a valuable way to invest in emerging talent. Encouraging young employees to attend helps them build confidence, strengthen communication skills, develop their professional presence, and expand their network. Abbie Campbell

Corporate and Community Fundraiser, Northamptonshire Health Charity

I’m a 29-year-old from Northampton. I graduated from the University of Northampton in 2019 with a BA Hons in Event Management and subsequently went on to work as an Event and Marketing Coordinator for The British Medical Ultrasound Society. I currently work for Northamptonshire Health Charity as a Corporate and Community fundraiser, and I have background of experience within the hospitality and health sector.

I’ve had moments over the years where I have struggled with getting myself out there and meeting new likeminded people and have found the next generation chamber to be an incredible support for this. I love knowing that I am going to be a part of creating a platform for the next generation! In my spare time I enjoy a pub quiz, bingo or watching a good series! I’m a big animal lover and I have 2 pet Rabbits which I talk about a lot.

Alicia Fergusson

Personal Assistant to Chief Executive and Assistant Chief Executive, West Northamptonshire Council

I am 21 years old, born and bred in Northampton and I have been working in local authorities in Northamptonshire since March 2020, where I began studying an apprenticeship in Business Admin. After completing my apprenticeship, I started working at West Northamptonshire Council in January 2022 as Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive and Assistant Chief Executive. My job is often fast paced and can involve juggling lots of different things at once but it is also be very rewarding and I like making new connections and speaking to a range of different people, especially when it benefits the local area and it’s residents.

I really enjoy networking and have been actively leading on my organisations internal Early Careers Staff Network which has been a great success and I hope to use some of my experiences to support the Next Gen Chamber. I am really looking forward to being a part of the Next Gen Committee and excited to continue meeting other likeminded young people in the network and helping to develop the CPD program.

When I’m not in the office, I love to listen to live music and am always up for gigs and festivals. I’m looking to spend the next few years travelling and visiting different music venues around the world!

Molly Feugard

Digital Marketing Executive, Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce and Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce

I started my career completing a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship and working as a Marketing Executive for a number of years before joining the Chamber in 2021. I started my time at the Chamber as the Training Executive before moving into the role of Digital Marketing Executive.

During my time at the Chamber some of my highlights include working on projects such as redesigning our Chamber Inbusiness magazine, introducing our new brand for the Northamptonshire Business Exhibition, continually growing our MK Business Showcase Events, and working on the prestigious Northamptonshire Business Awards. I can’t wait to bring some of these elements to the Next Generation Chamber in the future!
