Following last week’s announcement that a landmark development in the UK leisure and tourism sector is to be built in neighbouring County Bedfordshire, the Milton Keynes Chamber of Commerce is backing the plans which will boost the region’s economy.

Universal Studios confirmed plans to open its first European theme park just outside Bedford creating new jobs and a boost to Bedfordshire and surrounding counties. Set across a 476-acre site, the world-renowned entertainment giant aims to bring blockbuster-themed attractions to the region, including experiences inspired by James Bond, Paddington, and The Lord of the Rings. The park is set to open in 2031, with construction beginning in the near future.
