The Open University and Milton Keynes City Council are working together to make MK the leading city in Europe.

We are launching a competition open to companies to create challenges that we can tackle through the use of technology and data.

Challenges can focus on any aspect of life in MK including helping people live healthy lives, improving transport, enhancing education or delivering
environmental sustainability. To enter the competition you need to explain why the challenge is important to MK and suggest an innovative approach to tackling it. We will help create collaborative teams to develop your ideas and for selected challenges we will fund the first steps in the research programme.

Applications open on 8th March 2024 and close on the 15th May 2024. In May, we will select challenges for further development with support from The Open University. In September, we will announce the winning challenges and start the research projects to turn the plan into a reality.
