Horwood House donates £10k to CRISIS

The luxury country house hotel, Horwood House Hotel, in Buckinghamshire, is excited to announce they were awarded a prestigious MIA Award (Meetings Industry Association), at the annual awards ceremony in October 2023, for INNOVATION.

Awarded for…

Horwood House Hotel teamed up with the UK’s national charity for people experiencing homelessness, Crisis, and upcycling company Recoup to transform their syndicate breakout space into a creative and crafted space for delegate guests to enjoy. The Recoup team and Crisis members have carefully upcycled and restored some spectacular furniture to its former glory, presenting a space with a quintessentially English country pub vibe. Recoup supports the members to gain valuable skills in carpentry, which they can then take with them into the world of work.

The hotel purchases Crisis coffee beans from Volcano Coffee Works, to fuel conference delegates in this specially designed space, with 15% of all Volcano coffee purchases made by the hotel going straight to Crisis.

The MIA Awards are now in their thirteenth year, and competition for a spot on the sector’s landmark roll of honour was well contested once more, as judges revealed an unprecedented level of inspiring sector stories about individuals and teams going above and beyond across a range of business meetings and event roles.

A spokesperson for Horwood House Hotel, said “We are incredibly honoured to receive this prestigious award from MIA. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as our unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation in the meetings industry and we all incredibly proud of the new Crisis Lounge at the hotel and the money being raised for Crisis.”

By the end of 2023 Horwood House donated £10k to this very worthy charity.
