MK Community Foundation is proud to share that its corporate volunteer programme has contributed over 70 hours of professional support to the Milton Keynes Voluntary Sector over the last year, roughly equating to £12,500 in Pro Bono Support.

The Capacity Building programme is a newly forged branch of MK Community Foundation offerings which connects corporate volunteers and their professional skills with local organisations in need of skills-based support.

“I personally found it very beneficial.” said Jerry Taylor, Managing Director at WSA Communications.

Jerry volunteered his time through the programme to design and facilitate two business planning workshops, specifically designed to support charities with their business planning.

“It’s a nice way to give that knowledge back into the community.” he added.

Local organisations benefit from the expertise and resources of skilled professionals without having to hire additional staff or incur additional costs.

“As the leading organisation within the local voluntary sector landscape, we are aware that we play a critical role in supporting the development and well-being of communities. Capacity building is an essential component of this role as it helps to strengthen the capacity of organisations, groups, and individuals to address community needs and opportunities” said Michaela Clark, Capacity Building Manager at MK Community Foundation.

The Capacity Building Programme aims to bridge the gap between the Corporate and Voluntary sectors in Milton Keynes.

2023 marks the 39th year of Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), when MK Community Foundation joined thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK.
