Changing young lives with our new partnership | Transitions UK & The Trust

Blogs

Transitions UK are partnering with The Vale of Aylesbury Trust (The Trust)!

This is an amazing opportunity for the development of our charity and a great partnership to change our young people’s lives. We’ve created an extension of the Aspire Project (www.transitionsuk.org/aspire) in Milton Keynes & North Buckinghamshire to help young people who are at risk of offending or exploitation.

We, Transitions UK (www.transitionsuk.org), are a charity that supports vulnerable young people to create better lives and futures for themselves and our new partner, The Trust (www.vaht.co.uk), is a community-based organisation who provide affordable homes across Buckinghamshire and the surrounding areas as a not-for-profit landlord. They support residents and neighbourhoods, maintain quality homes, and build new ones.

They’re currently undergoing a name change, so you may hear us talking about our partnership with ‘Fairhive’ very soon!

The Project we’ve created will be supporting at least 6 young people through volunteer mentors – trained and deployed by Transitions UK. Each young person will be assigned 1-3 mentors subject to their own personal development plan.
The 6 young people are given 6 hours of 1-2-1 support including life planning, skills, and personal development per week. They’ll also receive training and employment opportunities which will be sourced and secured.

Our goal for this partnership is for our young people to improve upon their social skills, employability and reduce their risk of offending.

We’re also aiming to work in close partnership with the Trust, engaging its tenants in volunteering with the project and supporting safer and better neighbourhoods!
