New dates for Mental Wellbeing in the Workplace training courses
Mental Wellbeing in the Workplace Trainning
Meets the requirements of the HSE
Mental health in the workplace: first aiders who are trained to deal with mental health issues.
In 2022/23, around half of all cases of self-reported work-related ill health were attributed to stress, depression or anxiety. Considering that this resulted in 17.1 million people being absent with an average of 19.6 days taken, we need to equip ourselves with the knowledge, skills and understanding to support each other.
Stress does not affect everyone the same way. What stresses one person may not affect another. There are various factors which may affect staff suffering from work-related stress. For example, they may not feel able to cope with the demands of their jobs; they may feel they have no control over how they work; they may feel they lack support; they may feel isolated or bullied; or they may be fearful of change.
To support employers with this, we are pleased to announce that as well as on-site training, we are running our first open “Mental Health in the Workplace” course at King’s House, Ampthill Road, Bedford on 9 October 2024.
By the end of the course, attendees should understand the guidance and regulations concerning mental well-being in the workplace. They should be able to recognise the main mental health difficulties faced in the workplace and feel confident in initiating and conducting a well-being conversation to offer help. The students will learn how to look after themselves as mental health champions and will learn how to write a plan to implement good mental health practices in their workplace.
Our course fully complies with the HSE’s requirement for companies to prevent work-related stress and support good mental health. Attendees will receive a certificate upon completion.
