Milton Keynes City Breakfast Club Launches 2024 Series with Inspiring Guest Speakers and Charitable Initiatives

Convening monthly in the heart of Milton Keynes, local premier networking group, citybreakfastclub.co.uk saw the launch of its 2024 Series of events on Wednesday 7 February. The morning was enriched by insights from distinguished guest speakers, Dr Julie Mills OBE, and Dr Zoe Raven from Women Leaders UK, who shared captivating details of the highly anticipated launch of the Women Leaders Awards. Additionally, Andrea Smith, partner at Franklins Solicitors LLP, shared information about the Franklins £50 Challenge aimed at supporting deserving local charities across Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire.

The 2024 Women Leaders Awards feature 15 awards up for grabs, with 14 open for nominations. Nominations are scheduled to open on 15 February, with the window closing on 2 April. Finalist interviews will take place mid-May, leading up to the grand Gala Dinner and main event on 18 June. The Milton Keynes business community is encouraged to nominate remarkable women, whether living or working in Milton Keynes, to acknowledge their outstanding achievements.

With entries still open, running from 20 February to 21 May 2024, the Franklins £50 Challenge for charity is an innovative fundraising campaign spearheaded by Franklins Solicitors LLP. Participating teams will choose a charity, receive £50 seed funding and, over the three months, execute an idea to turn the seed funding into as much money as they can. This commendable initiative aims to alleviate the cost-of-living crisis prevalent in the local community and support the mental health and well-being of those affected.

Reflecting on the event, Liz Newell, co-host and partner at MHA said: “We are delighted to return for another year of the City Breakfast Club. Beyond fostering meaningful networking opportunities, our event embodies a commitment to championing charitable initiatives and supporting our community. We extend a warm welcome to all and look forward to the enriching experiences that 2024 holds in store.”

In addition to MHA as lead sponsor and event organiser, the City Breakfast Club is sponsored by long-standing partners, Business MK, Yellowyoyo, Eden Financial & Wealth Management, Franklins Solicitors LLP, Concept Onyx Recruitment, and Willen Hospice. Also joining as co-sponsors in 2024 are iNREACH Group Limited and Metro Bank.
